RelayEquip is a marketplace for used commercial equipment, based in Texas. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the rights you have — including your rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA). We keep it plain, with no fine print.

What we collect

Account details you give us: name, email, phone, photo, and service area. Verification status — whether your email and phone are confirmed, and, for sellers, the business details you provide. The listings you post, the offers you make, and the messages you exchange. Basic device, app-analytics, and crash data that keep the app reliable. We collect only what the marketplace needs to work.

How we use it

To run the marketplace — show listings, connect buyers and sellers, and power trust signals like verified badges — and to keep the community safe through moderation, blocking, and fraud prevention. We do NOT sell your personal data, use it for targeted advertising, or use it to profile you.

Who we share it with

Google Firebase, our backend provider, for authentication, database, storage, and analytics. Trusted service providers who help us run the app, under contracts that limit them to that purpose. Other users see only your public profile — your name, area, and verified status — plus the contact you choose to share with a counterparty when you make them an offer. We may disclose data if the law requires it or to protect people from harm.

Your Texas privacy rights

If you are a Texas resident, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives you the right to: confirm whether we process your personal data and get a copy of it; correct inaccurate data; delete your data; obtain a portable copy; and opt out of any sale of your data, targeted advertising, or profiling. We do not sell data, run targeted advertising, or profile you — so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right is yours. We will never punish you or degrade your experience for exercising these rights.

How to exercise your rights

Email support@relayequip.com, or edit and delete your data yourself in the app. We will respond within 45 days; if we need more time we may extend once by another 45 days and will tell you why. It is free up to twice a year. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision — and if we deny the appeal, you may file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.

Sensitive information and consent

We do not ask for sensitive personal data — such as precise geolocation, government-ID numbers, biometric or health data, or data revealing race, religion, or citizenship — beyond what verification or a listing genuinely needs, and we do not process it without your consent. We never sell sensitive personal data or biometric data.

Data security and breach notice

Your data is encrypted in transit, and access is enforced by server-side security rules on Google Firebase. No system is perfect, so if a breach ever affects your sensitive personal information we will notify you without unreasonable delay and, in any case, within 60 days of confirming it — and, if 250 or more Texas residents are affected, we will notify the Texas Attorney General within 30 days, as Texas law requires.

Data retention

We keep your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to run the marketplace, resolve disputes, meet legal and tax obligations, and prevent fraud. Deleting your account removes your profile; some records tied to completed transactions or required by law are kept for a limited time.

Children

RelayEquip is for business use by adults 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us data, email support@relayequip.com and we will remove it.

Your controls

Edit or remove your profile details anytime, block anyone from contacting you, and delete your account — which removes your profile — whenever you want.

Keeping it on RelayEquip

Deals and payments kept on RelayEquip are protected by our safeguards. Moving a conversation or a payment off-platform — Venmo, Zelle, cash, or wire — is at your own risk and outside that protection.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as the app and the law evolve, and we will change the date at the top when we do. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
